Rome may not have been built in a day, but one day is more than enough time to fall in love with its beauty and splendour. Immerse yourself in the world's best-know architectural marvels while soaking up the atmosphere at some of its lesser-known retreats. The young and energetic fashionista Martina Mercedes Corradetti will show you how!

Hotel: Suite Art Navona
Come for the location, stay for the design and stay a little longer for the price. This incredibly well situated hotel is one of the best design hotels you will find in the city center. It is the perfect stay to relax in between exploring this amazing city.
Breakfast: Bakery House
When in Rome, do as the Romans do, right?! Well, many Romans these days start their day with an American breakfast. So if you’re hanging out for proper pancakes, delicious muffins and someone who knows what to do with bacon and eggs, just go to Bakery House on Corso Trieste. Best of all, you can wash it all down with some real American coffee.

Food is an important topic when travelling to Italy. If its authentic, local cuisine you’re after, this cute little “ristobistrot” is the place to be. A great selection of local and regional wines go brilliantly with the "amatriciana" – my personal favorite made with bacon. It’s making me hungry just thinking about it!

Museum: Maxxi
As its name suggests, MAXXI is the mother of all venues in Rome. A great place to catch a concert but by far my favorite part of this fabulous complex is the on-premises design museum. If there was ever a place to lose yourself, this is it. You’ll be literally beside yourself with some of the finest examples of contemporary design the planet has ever seen. Enough to make you feel very like a drop in the ocean.

No stay in Rome would be complete without trying the famous "grattachecca". There is no better antidote to the Roman heat than this delectable and sweet ice-dessert. Sora Lella is one of the many kiosks that sell this utterly Roman invention and it has been doing so within a stone’s throw of St Peter’s church for 3 generations..

Piccolo Diavolo, or "Little Devil" is a devilishly good choice for a tantalizing aperitif right in the heart of Rome. An Aperol Spritz perchance? Campari soda? Or Martini Bianco, Rosso or Rosato? Nobody does aperitifs like the Italians and this is the place to try them all!
